Mr. McDonough works primarily in the Secured Creditors’ Rights Litigation Group for the state of New Jersey. He concentrates his practice in the areas of foreclosure and bankruptcy. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McDonough represented borrowers with the Firm of Stuart D. Gavzy & Associates, was the staff attorney for the Chapter 13 Standing Trustee in Newark, and represented Chapter 7 trustees and creditors as an associate with Sterns & Weinroth. Mr. McDonough appears in the New Jersey State Courts and the United States District Court and United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. Mr. McDonough has argued multiple cases before the New Jersey Appellate Division, representing creditors’ interests in both foreclosure and bankruptcy matters before the Justices.
Mr. McDonough has been a panelist and lecturer for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (NJ ICLE) program and was a presenter for the New Jersey Financial Literacy Program (FLiP) which held seminars for high school students, particularly in lower-income areas, on the importance of “day-to-day” financial awareness and good decision making.
