FSKS is proud to announce the addition of two seasoned professionals to our Real Estate Group: Matthew I. Kane, who joins as a Principal, and Diane Burbella, an experienced Real Estate/Transactional Paralegal. Together, Matthew and Diane bring decades of knowledge and collaborative experience, deepening the firm’s capabilities in both residential and commercial real estate matters.
Meet Matthew I. Kane, Principal
Matthew I. Kane returns to FSKS with a distinguished career in real estate law. Originally joining the firm as an Associate in 1994, he has since led REO transactional departments at other respected New Jersey law firms before rejoining FSKS as a Principal. Matthew’s legal work spans a broad range of real estate transactions, including residential and commercial purchases and sales, financing and leasing, the disposition of distressed property portfolios, workouts, and deed-in-lieu of foreclosure transactions. His depth of experience and strategic insight make him a trusted advisor for clients navigating complex real estate matters.
He represents financial institutions, investors, and individuals, always with a meticulous and client-first approach. Matthew holds a B.A. in Economics from Lafayette College and a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Meet Diane Burbella, Paralegal
Diane Burbella joins FSKS as a Real Estate/Transactional Paralegal. With extensive experience managing residential and commercial transactions—including REO and deed-in-lieu transactions—Diane works with both institutional and private clients. Her sharp attention to detail and hands-on support across all transaction stages make her a vital asset to the firm’s operations.
Diane and Matthew have worked side-by-side since 2008, building a strong and efficient partnership that delivers seamless legal support to clients navigating the real estate process.
